Topic/Presenter: Opto-mechanical / M. Vincent Question/Comment: Put shutter close to detector. (OBSOLETE) Need flexure specs for more than rotation -> include instrument from horizontal to vertical [for possible future mounting on corner port] Is thre a tolerance for the alignment of NIC-FPS to the telescope optical axis? At the corner port, NIC-FPS will "bend" off the PMSS [primary mirror support structure] by a TBD angle from nominal with elevation. (OBSOLETE) Submitted by: Bruce Gillespie NIC-FPS Response: We will be traveling to APO to discuss these and other issues well before the CDR. We will conduct a structural analysis for NIC-FPS. We will include the rotator, NIC-FPS spacer, and optical bench in the analysis. Going with the NA2 port only for mounting greatly simplifies the modeling. Early results indicate that the optical design and telescope pointing map can readily accommodate the as modelled flexures. Status: Further details at the Critical Design Review.
