Topic/Presenter: Optics / C. Stewart/M. Vincent Question/Comment: Not clear if provision to make routine internal focus adjustments inside NIC-FPS regarding the mode change, filter change, temperature change... Submitted by: Bruce Gillespie NIC-FPS Response: Since the etalon and filters are in collimated beam space, we expect no change in focus when changing these. The optical design is confocal at all operating wavelengths. A tolerance analysis is require to determine whether an internal focusing mechanism is necessary, and on what what optical element (i.e. collimator, camera or FPA). To date, we see no need for an internal focusing mechanism. Status: Closed.
